To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
WHEREAS skilled immigrants have spent valuable years contributing to Ontario’s healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, industrial and technology industries,
WHEREAS the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an important tool in strengthening our economy by matching specialized industries with key talent, leading to resource and labour optimization,
WHEREAS many skilled workers who wish to remain in Ontario through the OINP are experiencing delays with their applications beyond the set time given by the Ontario government, leaving them in precarious employment and immigration situations,
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, PETITION THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO AS FOLLOWS:
To improve the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s transparency and work with the federal government to ensure that individuals who have applied for OINP and have been experiencing longer than expected wait times can extend their work permits and continue to contribute to the economy.
